Lens Flare Transition

Example 1:  Lens flare transition - Lake Ngaroto stick fight

These two video sequences were shot on the 26th July 2009 at Lake Ngaroto and because I used an iPhone V3, they were not recorded at a high quality. What I like most about this video recording is that it is truly live drama, with no sound effects or intended acting.

Draft: Short lens flare ending

The lens flare is a relatively gentle way to make a transition between two video sequences. I was able to make it even more natural by utilising the sun's position and matching what was potentially a naturally occurring lens flare. What I did find (something that you can see by comparing the draft and final clips) is that it was important to match on action to make it more convincing. The main reason why the draft clip was updated was because it was suggested in the workshop that the lens flare should linger longer in the second sequence.

Final: Extended lens flare ending (1 of 5)
