Video Transition

The primary purpose of this blog is to complete the first assignment for Video Production 3,  a third year Screen and Media undergraduate paper at the University of Waikato. This first assignment focuses on video transitions that go beyond the familiar cuts and cross-fades that have come out of the traditional style of film editing and instead considers transitions that move beyond these limitations, through the use of computer video editing software.

As a requirement of this assignment I have created and included in this blog a set of video transitions using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier. My examples are located on separate web pages according to their category and can be accessed from the right hand menu. There is also one page that provides five examples of transition that I have found on Youtube to demonstrate the work of others.

Motion Picture Titles Sequences

Included in this assignment is the creation of two motion picture title sequences, which use digital effects created in Adobe After Effects. A very good After Effects tutorial web site I used to help me with this assignment was Video Copilot. I recommend that anyone serious about using AE should work through all these examples on this web site - something that I plan to do in the future. My motion picture titles examples are on their own web page available from the right had menu.
